So, as we all know, the World Cup 2014 has reached the semi-finals phase. In light of this holy occasion, I have decided the Top Four Football Teams in the World deserve a cocktail in their honor.

Speaking of honor, I think the referees deserve an honorable mention as well.

Especially the referee of the first match of the World Cup, who wasn’t dramatic at all:

Oh, that makes me laugh.

Moving on.

We begin this list of World Cup 2014 Cocktails with the host country:

Seleção: Pineapple Caipirinha:
2 oz Cachaça
Pineapple juice
2 limes
Sugar, to taste
Ice

Cut a lime into 8 pieces and place in the bottom of a short (old-fashioned) glass.
Add a spoonful of sugar (more or less, to taste) to the glass.
Muddle the sugar and lime together until the limes have released most of their juices.
Add the Cachaça.
Top off with pineapple juice and fresh squeezed lime juice.
SAUDE!

Just make sure this doesn’t happen again, Brazil:

 Get well soon, Neymar!

Next, we go to Germany to for a fun and interactive cocktail.

Radler Bomb:
1 beer (preferably Germen, I used a hefeweizen)
1 ginger beer
1 shot of Jägermeister
Slice of lime for garnish

Pour 1 part beer and 1 part ginger beer into a large glass. Serve alongside a shot of Jägermeister.
Either drop the shot into the glass with the beer mixture and chug or take the shot alone and chase with the beer mixture.
PROST!

Germany usually doesn’t disappoint and generally seems to find a way to win.

This little German guy probably agrees with me:

This drink is best enjoyed with a straw.
SALUD Y AMOR Y DINERO … Y TIEMPO PARA DISFRUTARLO!

You cannot mention Argentina and not mention the man himself, Messi:

Messi.

Sweet, sweet Messi.

Sigh.

This guy knows that Argentina is in it to win it:

SOON

 Argentina FTW.

And now, last but not least, we round out the semi-finals of World Cup 2014 Cocktails with the Netherlands.

Clockwork Orange:
1 oz gin (preferably Dutch gin)
1 oz Grand Marnier (or any other orange liqueur)
Orange soda (I used San Pellegrino)
Juice of half a juicy orange
Orange slices for garnish

Fill a tall glass with ice.
Add the gin and orange liqueur.
Top off with orange soda and the juice of half an orange, or more to taste.
Stir and garnish.
PROOST!

The Netherlands can claim the glory of the most beautiful goal of the World Cup 2014, and it’s not even over yet.

Why, you ask?

  1. Hup holland hup!!

The Dutch drink would probably be good with oranje bitters. It’s a Dutch liquor that looks and smells like orange soda but tastes bitter.

  2. Hey there excellent blog! Does running a blog similar to this
take a great deal of work? I have absolutely no expertise in programming however I had been hoping to start
my own blog soon. Anyways, should you have any ideas or tips for new
blog owners please share. I understand this is off
topic but I simply had to ask. Appreciate it!

    • Hi, thank you. It is time consuming, I am currently redesigning my blog it should be live at the end of October and that costs time and money so you definitely have to love cooking, writing and photography in order to enjoy this work!
