Mexican cocktails are the best.
Also, Cinco de Mayo is around the corner!
It’s basically an excuse for non-Mexican yet culturally-sensitive people to drink and eat delicious Mexican food.
Today, I will be honoring the Drinko de Mayo aspect of this holiday by making 5 Mexican cocktails.
Also, known as Cinco de Drinko.
Something for every taste here:
Margarita
1 oz (or more lol) tequila
1/4 oz triple sec
2 oz fresh lime juice
2 oz fresh orange juice ( I used Ojai Pixie juice, soo good!)
Lime slice for garnish
Salt, for rim
Mexican Bulldog
Margarita recipe (above)
Flip a small beer (Coronita) upside down into the glass
Lime slice for garnish
Salt, for rim
Spiked Horchata
1 oz tequila
1/2 oz cinnamon schnapps
6 oz horchata (or more, to taste)
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Cinnamon stick for garnish
Jamaica Champagne Cocktail
Fill glass about 1/2-1/4 of way up with Jamaica (recipe below)
Top off glass with champagne
Garnish w/ edible flower (the flower I used is perfect because it doesn’t get in the way while you’re drinking and you can smell it with each sip)
Jamaica Recipe:
1 quart boiling water
1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
1/2 cup sugar
small piece grated ginger
2 tsp fresh lime juice
(mix all ingredients together and let sit 10 minutes, then strain and chill)
Bloody Maria
1 part Mexican beer
1 part Clamato
1 1/2 oz tequila
Few dashes hot sauce
Few dashes Worcestershire sauce
Few dashes Maggi liquid seasoning (optional)
Garnish w/ chicharonnes
Serve over ice w/ a straw
Drink responsibly!
Or irresponsibly in the comfort of your own home!
